The 408 hybrid broiler is a small type of broiler with local characteristics, referred to as "small meat miscellaneous". Originated from Luxi, Shandong Province, because of its relatively long feeding cycle, good meat quality and taste, it conforms to the dietary taste of African people. For example, some local characteristic chicken products, such as grilled chicken, roast chicken, smoked chicken, etc., all can use  408 hybrid broiler, which has a large market demand; In addition, 408 hybrid broilers have strong adaptability to the environment, and their disease resistance has been greatly improved compared with large broilers.

The parent generation breeders weigh 1350-1400g at the age of 20 weeks, consume 7.1-7.6 kg/chicken at the age of 1 to 20 weeks, and the survival rate is 95% - 96%; The age of the first laying day is 140~150 days, and the peak laying rate is 90%~92%; 68-week-old hens laid 260~265 eggs, 230~240 qualified breeding eggs, and 90~95 chicks, weighing 1750~1850 grams; At the age of 2l~68 weeks, the daily feed consumption was 112~117 g/animal, and the survival rate was 92%~93%. The weight of commercial chicken at the age of 20 weeks is 1350-1400g, the feed consumption at the age of 1 to 20 weeks is 6.8-7.3kg/chicken, and the survival rate is 96% - 98%; The age of the first laying day is 140~147 days, and the peak laying rate is 93%~96%; The 80-week-old hens laid 327-335 eggs, weighing 61-62 g and 1700-1800 g; At the age of 21~80 weeks, the daily feed consumption is 104~110 g/animal, the feed to egg ratio (2.10~2.20): 1, and the survival rate is 94%~95%.

Rose 308 is characterized by strong physique, high survival rate, fast weight gain and high meat yield. The parents' generation of breeders have more qualified eggs, high fertilization rate and hatching rate, and can produce the largest number of healthy chicks. This chicken breed is a four-line matching, and commercial chicks can identify male and female according to feather speed. The survival rate of Ross 308 broiler during the breeding period is 95%, the survival rate during the laying period is 95%, the peak laying rate is up to 86%, and the laying rate is more than 80%, which can last for 9 weeks.

The hen in the shed has accumulated 186 eggs. The average hatching rate of the whole period is 85%, and 149 chicks are accumulated. Rose 308 commercial broilers have an average weight of 3.05 kg at the end of the 7th week, which can be released early, greatly reducing the risk of broilers in the late feeding period. The feed meat ratio at the age of 42 days is 1.7, the feed meat ratio at the age of 49 days is 1.82, and the meat yield is high

The chicken has white feathers and well-developed pectoral muscles. The weight of commercial rooster at 7 weeks old can reach 2 31kg, and the weight of hens is more than 2kg, and the proportion of feed consumption and meat gain is 2.0:1. It is more tolerant to roughage, and has stronger disease resistance and adaptability. The egg laying rate of parent generation breeders at 25 weeks of age reached 5%~10%. The number of hens laid in the shed was 179, and 162 qualified breeders were able to breed 138 broilers. The survival rate during the laying period was 92%~94%.
